Responsible commitment to people and the environment

SACE SIMEST,
making Italy great in the world

Sustainability at SACE SIMEST is an integral part of our overall strategic vision and all activities planned and carried out within the company are inspired by the ethical and social principles found in our Code of Ethics.

In fact, due to the very nature of the company, SACE SIMEST’s mission is focused on sustainability, supporting and promoting the exports and the internationalisation of Italian companies, creating value in support of the entire Country.

At SACE SIMEST we pay particular attention to the direct and indirect impact that our activities have on the environment and on stakeholders, pursuing a win-win approach that creates value for all involved.

We comply with the OECD Guidelines on corporate social responsibility: recommendations and voluntary standards of behaviour on transparency, human rights, relations with employees, the protection of the environment, the consumer and the competition, the fight against corruption, technological innovation and taxation-related duties. SACE SIMEST's activities are also governed by European Union legislation (including Directive 29/1998) and by the Agreement on Officially Supported Export Credits ("Consensus") signed at the OCSE. SACE SIMEST respects the principles established by the Berne Union, an international organisation that brings together export credit companies and investment support agencies.

Our code of ethics

Our Code of Ethics sets out the values and principles that must be adhered to by directors, auditors, accountants, managers, employees, contractors and all third parties with whom SACE and its subsidiaries have dealings.

SACE promotes knowledge of, in compliance with, the Code of conduct in the context of operations of the group. This means that external parties who have relations with SACE must also abide by the same principles.

The supply chain

SACE SIMEST acquires goods and services in compliance with the principles of effectiveness, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, freedom of competition, equal treatment, non-discrimination, competition between businesses, transparency, proportionality and disclosure. The purchasing processes are therefore based on pre-contractual and contractual conduct inspired by these principles and the same principles must also be adopted by suppliers in their business dealings with us.

Suppliers are chosen by means of an in-depth evaluation of both economic-financial aspects and their meeting specific technical and financial requirements. For more information visit the section on tenders and contracts.
